Stockholm
has been the capital of Sweden since the country had
its first Swedish king in 1523. As is typical for Scandinavia,
the city has an openness and tolerance for the gay community.
The city is built on a series of islands, and Stockholm
has in fact been called “the city that floats
on water.” There is not a concentrated area of
gay life; rather, the many charming bars and cafes are
spread throughout the city, and one can be assured of
finding a welcoming spot in virtually every neighborhood.
Stockholms
Slott, the old Royal Palace, dominates the island which
is Stockholm’s oldest district, known as Gamla
Stan (Old Town). One can wander the narrow alleys with
art galleries, restaurants and shops.
Our

the many museums and attractions, as well as to shop
