Oslo
is the capital of Norway, which was part of the 1397
Kalmar Union with Denmark and Sweden, which became part
of only Sweden in 1814, and which declared independent
and elected its own king in 1905. Like all of Scandinavia,
Norway has a friendly and tolerant acceptance of gays,
and Oslo reflects that friendliness around every corner.
The gay areas are fairly central, located between the
railway station and the royal palace, and there are
many nice bars and eating places.
Hotel choices by Pink Viking will enable easy exploration
around Oslo. The city tour in the Base Package will
give a wonderful flavor of the city, but there is still
a lot to discover, especially the Vigelands Sculpture
Park, the museum of the artist Edvard Munch, the open
air folk museum, and the Viking ship museum.
